March 1 is also the last day to buy a yearbook. They are $30 and can be purchased in the front office. There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 2. CVMS will have an intruder drill on March 7. 7th grade robotics club students took a tour of the Blount Manufacturing facility on February 10th. During this trip, students received a tour of their lawn mower blade production process which utilizes automation and robotics. Students experienced the quality testing of the blades and their process. The purpose of this field trip was to have students connect concepts of force, kinetic/potential energy, and temperature changes students learn about in class. Additionally, students observed the real-world industrial robots and automation in action. Students were shown different stages in manufacturing and how the specific robot does it's job based on the programming, sensors and motors. Finally, students observed a new stage in the manufacturing process which was in setting up and troubleshooting before production. This relates to the troubleshooting process students do during robotics club and Project Lead the Way automation and robotics courses.
