Acuity tutoring started Monday (for ELA) and Wednesday (for Math) this week. Permission slips should have been turned into the front office. If you have questions about this process, please contact your student’s teacher. Please remember that attendance is important. If the doctor's office says that he/she can return to school, please have him/her return to school with the doctor's note. Thank you for helping us remind students that when they miss school, they miss out. Dragon Pride permission slips were passed out on Monday. Here are the details, as previously shared: To qualify for Dragon Pride, the student must have: -at least 95% attendance -All A’s and B’s for 1st and 2nd quarter -No office referrals -No ZAPS Timeline/details of the trip: -Friday, February 3, students who qualified will be going to the YMCA for skating and/or a movie. Dragon Pride students will eat lunch at 11:00am and then go the the YMCA to either skate or watch a movie. We will return to school around 2:00 pm. -A list of students who qualified will be posted and permission slips will go home on Monday, January 23rd. These are due to the office no later than Wednesday, February 1st, at 3:30 pm. Late permission slips WILL NOT be accepted. -The cost of the trip is $5. This covers skate rental, skating, and the movie. Money must be turned in with the permission slip. If students want to bring extra money, concessions will be available. MAP/Acuity tutoring is starting back up the week of January 23. Groups will meet for 6 sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays for ELA and Math, respectively. If your student receives a permission slip, please have it returned to the office no later than Wednesday, January 18. Bus transportation will be provided for students living within city limits. 8th Grade only: Algebra I and Math tutoring is available after school Monday through Thursday. Grades will be updated no later than January 6. Please remember that we have transitioned to electronic grading. This means that paper copies of grades will not be sent home unless requested through the front office. With the electronic grading system, grades can be monitored at your convenience. You are strongly encouraged to sign up for PowerSchool access. Rehearsals for this group are from 7:00 to 7:30 and 3:00 to 3:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays. -Honor Choir (5th and 6th grade) will resume on Tuesday, January 17th. Rehearsals for this group are from 3:10 to 3:40 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pictured below are three sixth graders (left to right: Carson Bottorff, Graden Hammond, and James Brandt).
