Your child should turn this into his/her first hour teacher. We look forward to seeing you in two weeks!!! As CVMS moves towards becoming a Leader in Me school through the Covey Foundation, we will continue to do fundraising. Our next event is a Badminton Intramural. Click here for details. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Tunks at [email protected]. Ms. McDaniel went into 6th grade classes last Tuesday and 7th grade classes last Thursday to teach a guidance lesson focused on tolerance and accepting differences. Classes discussed different cultures and looking at differences as something to celebrate. Students learned about some of the cultures we have in America and various things those cultures have brought us. Classes also discussed how to be respectful to someone even if they have a different lifestyle. Ms. McDaniel went into 8th grade classes yesterday to teach a lesson on careers and planning for the future. Students worked with the Missouri Connections program to look at how their interest matches with potential career options. Students learned about the 6 career paths and 16 career clusters within those paths. Students also explored their top career cluster matches and specific information about the careers in that field. Students learned about the importance of planning for their future in order to have a goal they are working toward throughout high school. This will also help to determine which high school classes will best fit with their future plans as they get ready to do their personal plan of study in 2 weeks with the high school counselors. 8th Grade Parents-Click here for the letter that was sent home with all 8th grade students regarding the upcoming parent orientation night for next years Freshman on February 22 @ 6:30. Please plan to attend. If you have questions, please contact Lacey Henry (student last names A-K) at [email protected] or Jerry Burks (student last names L-Z) at [email protected]. On February 27th and 28th Ms. McDaniel and the high school counselors will be in 8th grade classes to talk with students about transitioning into high school and working with them on scheduling. If you have questions about this, please contact Ms. McDaniel at [email protected]. Several 6th grade students applied to be a part of the Student Led Conference Team.
