Student-Led Conferences are tomorrow. What can you expect since SLCs are different than traditional conferences? Student-Led Conferences are just what the name implies---the conferences are led by the student. This means that the student will need to come with you to the conference, as she/he is a key player.

Good luck to the CHS Dragons Varsity Football Team on the homecoming game that night!! There is no school on Monday, October 9. The fundraiser ends tomorrow. Please remind students to bring in all fundraising orders tomorrow morning. Thank you!! This week Ms. McDaniel, our school counselor, went into classrooms to teach a lesson on bullying prevention and how to respond. Students learned how a situation can be classified as bullying and how to report an incident. Students also practiced how to respond appropriately if they are in a situation that is bothering them. Ms. McDaniel had students practice speaking up for yourself and being assertive but not aggressive. Also, cyber bullying and appropriate use of social media was discussed. Students learned how to be safe and responsible while on social media. Over the first few weeks of school Mr. Fisher visited all classrooms and presented information on sexual harassment. Cameron Schools have a zero tolerance policy and take all reports of sexual harassment seriously. Students are now aware of what sexual harassment is and what to do if it happens. On Friday, September 22nd CVMS will have our Fall Pep Assembly at 2:15. We will recognize our fall sports teams as well as other organizations throughout CVMS. In addition, we will have games and the band will perform our fight song. It will be a great way to end the week. Click here for a letter from DESE regarding the Spring 2017 EOC data.
