Student-Led Conferences are tomorrow. What can you expect since SLCs are different than traditional conferences? Student-Led Conferences are just what the name implies---the conferences are led by the student. This means that the student will need to come with you to the conference, as she/he is a key player.

This week Ms. McDaniel, our school counselor, went into classrooms to teach a lesson on bullying prevention and how to respond. Students learned how a situation can be classified as bullying and how to report an incident. Students also practiced how to respond appropriately if they are in a situation that is bothering them. Ms. McDaniel had students practice speaking up for yourself and being assertive but not aggressive. Also, cyber bullying and appropriate use of social media was discussed. Students learned how to be safe and responsible while on social media.
Over the first few weeks of school Mr. Fisher visited all classrooms and presented information on sexual harassment. Cameron Schools have a zero tolerance policy and take all reports of sexual harassment seriously. Students are now aware of what sexual harassment is and what to do if it happens.
